Armed Security Officer Training Course 1 – Basic (4 Hours)

Course Overview
This 4-hour basic training course is designed for armed security officers to develop and reinforce foundational shooting skills. The program covers firearms safety, safe gun handling, marksmanship fundamentals, and essential weapons manipulations — bridging the gap between range training and real-world incident response.
Training Plan
1. Safety Briefing
- Firearms Safety Rules and how they translate from the range to real world incidents
2. Safe Gun Handling Reinforcement Drills
- Safe firearms handling
- Effective Holster Mechanics
- Understanding Ready positions vs Challenge positions
3. Firearms Marksmanship Fundamentals
- Marksmanship fundamentals
- Marksmanship drills
- Understanding speed vs precision and the need for accuracy
4. Essential Weapons Manipulations
- Reloading mechanics
- Malfunctions and stoppages
- Marksmanship reinforcement
Required Equipment
Please note: Anyone attending training on behalf of an agency or department should use their issued or agency approved equipment. Anyone attending privately should use law enforcement or security industry standard equipment. All holsters should be equipped with at least 1 level of retention. Hearing and eye protection is available on site for students who do not bring their own.
