Commonly Asked Questions

Who needs BLS certification?

BLS is required by most medical employers, EMS training programs, nursing schools, dental programs, and many healthcare-adjacent workplaces. It is also ideal for security officers, fitness trainers, and anyone wanting life-saving skills.

How long is the BLS certification valid?

AHA BLS certification is valid for 2 years from the date of completion. We recommend renewing before expiration to maintain continuous certification.

What do I need to bring?

Just yourself! All training materials and equipment are provided. Wear comfortable clothing as the course includes hands-on practice on mannequins.

Will I receive a card the same day?

Yes. Upon successful completion of the course you will receive your American Heart Association BLS Provider card the same day.

Is this the same as Heartsaver CPR?

No. BLS (Basic Life Support) is designed for healthcare providers and is a higher level of certification than the Heartsaver CPR course. BLS is accepted everywhere Heartsaver is accepted, but not vice versa.
