Reinforce and develop the fundamentals of pistol marksmanship.

Build a Repeatable Foundation
Students will spend time with instructors reinforcing and developing the basics of pistol marksmanship. The focus is on building a repeatable hold, aim, and trigger control — the three fundamentals every accurate shooter relies on.
Course Overview
This 4-hour live-fire workshop gives students dedicated range time with instructors to refine the fundamentals of pistol marksmanship. You will work on developing a consistent, repeatable grip and hold, proper sight alignment and aim, and clean trigger control.
Instructors provide individual coaching to diagnose and correct errors, helping you build the muscle memory and mechanics that translate to accuracy and consistency on the range.

Requirements to Attend
- Be at least 18 years of age (minors welcome with a parent or guardian present)
- Be a lawful, non-prohibited person able to possess firearms
- Basic familiarity with pistol safety and operation is recommended
Fee is all inclusive. No hidden fees, additional costs, or pricing mark ups. Firearm and ammunition rentals are available on site.
What to Bring
Live-Fire Range:
- • A pistol (rentals available on site)
- • 100–150 rounds of factory ammunition
- • Eye and ear protection
- • Comfortable, range-appropriate clothing
- • Closed-toe shoes
Recommended:
- • 2–3 magazines for your pistol
- • Water and snacks
- • A readiness to learn and repeat drills
Rental Info
Rentals are available on a first come first served basis.
Firearms we carry for students are Glock 17, 19, 21, 22, 23, Springfield XD9, Ruger GP Revolver.
Ammo for rentals will be based on market value when purchased and generally varies between $25 - $40 per box of 50 rounds depending on maker, caliber, and availability.

Do I need to take the NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting first?
The workshop is designed for students who already understand the basics of safe pistol handling. If you are brand new to shooting, we recommend starting with the NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting before attending the workshop.
What will I work on in this workshop?
Students will reinforce and develop the fundamentals of pistol marksmanship, focusing on building a repeatable hold, sight alignment / aim, and trigger control. Instructors give individual coaching to help you build consistent, repeatable mechanics.
How long is the workshop?
The workshop is approximately 4 hours of live-fire range time, typically completed in a single session.
Do I need my own firearm?
No. Firearms and ammunition are available to rent on site if you do not own one. Bring 100–150 rounds of factory ammunition, or purchase ammunition at market value with a rental.
Will I receive a certificate?
This is a skills-development workshop rather than a certification course. It is excellent preparation for more advanced pistol and defensive courses.

Range Location & Map
Lopez Canyon Shooting Range, Sylmar, CA
Directions and address will be provided upon booking a course. It is approximately 10 minutes' drive from our classrooms.
Important Notes:
- • When you are driving on the dirt keep speeds under 10mph.
- • For classes and qualifications, we will be on the lower ranges. As soon as you cross the wooden bridge, we are immediately to the right on the first driveway.
- • You may bring your equipment to the bay, do not uncase until instructed to do so. Firearms may not be hand carried from the car.
- • Do not load magazines until instructed to do so.
Facilities Available:
- • Private range, there is no access for public shooters.
- • Women's and Men's restrooms available.
- • Shade and seated areas.
- • Wheelchair ramp ADA accessible.
- • There are no ammunition vendors on site. All rental or range equipment must be requested ahead of time. Eye protection and hearing protection first come, first served.
